We ask the PAC to be transparent about their data

  • The PAC can’t explain why projected new enrollment under their proposal is higher by 209-234 students than the current enrollment.
  • The proposed French-DLI only school is projected to have an enrollment of 325-350, yet the current enrollment in French is 259 (with parents reporting that several kids have moved from French to the traditional program in just the last few weeks)
    • Are some of these 66-91+ additional students going to come from Butler’s French DLI that is rumored to be closing?
  • The PAC says the capacity of Morningside is 650, yet the District has previously said the building capacity is 600.
    • We ask: are they counting container classrooms?
  • The PAC says the capacity of Eastwood is 500, and the capacity of Oakridge is 550, and they claim that they need to move Eastwood kids to Oakridge because Oakridge has more space. But the GSD website lists both schools as having a capacity of 550.
    • We ask: did the PAC intentionally use different capacity numbers than Granite School District, in order to make Oakridge look like the only viable option?
  • The PAC projects that Oakridge’s student population will be 520, 30 more than the combined attendance at Eastwood and Oakridge this year (245 + 245 =490).
    • Why do the numbers not add up?
  • The PAC’s projected enrollment at Driggs is more than 100 higher than what is explained by the data, after accounting for moving the ~100 kids from the Holladay area to Cottonwood and moving the kids from Morningside’s traditional class to Driggs.
